Geography Drive USA makes top back-to-school guide.
Champaign, Illinois, August 15, 2013 — For years, Common Sense Media has been a beacon for families looking for the best kid-friendly movies, games, apps and more. And now they’ve made their favorite selections official with a Back-to-School Guide highlighting the best apps for core skills.
The free guide highlights apps in three different age ranges, including the 7-12 bracket, where Geography Drive USA scored a major nod. Praised as a “fun, empowering way to learn about America and its states,” the game was one of only five apps to receive the organization’s stamp of approval in the social studies segment.
In less than a year, Geography Drive USA has become a flagship brand for Spinlight, earning both a Gold Parents’ Choice Award and the coveted Children’s Technology Editor’s Choice Award. “We packed this one with a ton of fun discoveries,” says Matt Hutton, CEO and co-founder of Spinlight Studio. “There are trophies to win, mini-games to master and quirky products to deliver for extra points. And all the while, players are learning the facts they need to know, like state capitals, major rivers and key historical events.”
